So What now?
3/7/2011: For those of you who have checked our website recently, you may have noticed that there hasn’t been an update in almost a full year. What happened? Here goes an attempt to fill in the blanks....
Stephen Lange was offered a job with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in March of 2010, and began a probationary period in September, 2010. On 2/11/2011, after a five month trial period with the BSO, Steve gave official notice of his departure from the SLSO, thus leaving the trombone ensemble as well. Please read a personal comment from Steve:
“It is with many bittersweet emotions that I leave the SLSLO and the Trombones of the Saint Louis Symphony. I am so proud and fortunate that I was able to be a part of a trombone section that was so willing to take our craft from the “back row” to the “only row” in such a meaningful way. The recordings, “4.1,” and Gerry’s solo bass trombone recording, “Departure,” is testament to our passionate work. I am so proud that we produced and preserved a snapshot of my time in the ensemble - I will always look back on my time with the group with positive feelings. I wish the absolute best for Tim, Gerry, and Jon in continuing to take their art outside the orchestra, and hopefully we will have the opportunity to play together again in the future.” ~SL
Vanessa Fralick, a terrific young trombonist, has temporarily taken Steve’s place in the orchestra and is filling in with the quartet as needed.
We have been pleased with the sales of our recording, and hopefully you have been enjoying listening to our work. Stay tuned!

2/9/2010: We have learned that there are many moving parts in finishing a recording project! We now have a target release date of March 10, 2010. It is in the hands of our producer/recording engineer, Paul Eachus. The front cover design is finished - here is what it looks like. We are finished with the liner notes and photography, and now the mechanical licensing. You will be able to order the disc directly from us through this website, CD Baby and iTunes.
The disc will include quartet works by Ewazen, Plog, and Gabrieli. Also on the recording are some some trios, as well, composed by Hidas, Speer, and Premru.
8/25/2009: It has been a busy 2009 for all of us! In addition to our everyday lives as orchestral musicians, we have also been exploring and recording quartet literature - and in Gerry’s case, he recently released his recording. You can download it here, or buy it from Hickeys Music. We perform three Bruckner motets on this disk. You can listen to a sample here: Locus Iste
